Mr. & Mrs. F. L. Schlagle Library

Saturday, May 20, 2023

10:30am – 12:00pm

Spring’s baby birds are flitting around Schlagle Library- and a recent rare nester is causing some attention: the Prothonotary Warbler! Join Johnson County Master Naturalist and KC Burroughs Audubon Society member, Ann Tanner, as she presents a slideshow on the warblers’ recent nests behind our library and her group’s efforts in keeping this bird’s population from declining. Then, take a short walk to visit the warblers’ nesting boxes in progress!

Mrs. Tanner will also be introducing the Adventure Naturepack Program, sponsored by Audubon of Kansas and the Burroughs Audubon Society. This program will provide backpacks including both youth and adult binoculars as well as other information for check-out by library patrons.

Please register in advance for this program here.
