Calling all high school students with an interest in taking the ACT! Would you like the opportunity to take a full-length practice test? You can experience the real testing environment without the pressure AND get a sneak peek at the types of questions that you will find on a real ACT test.
The practice exam takes approximately 3 ½ hours and the following dates will be held in the auditorium at the West Wyandotte Library: Saturday, 3/04/23, and Saturday 5/06/23. The room opens at 8:45 am and testing begins at 9:00 am sharp. Late students will not be admitted to adhere as closely as possible to actual test date rules and to not disturb other students.
Registration for this event is required and registration for the March date is open now! Register at https://kckpl.librarymarket.com/event/act-practice-test-2. Each student needs to bring a photo ID, #2 pencils (although spares will be provided just in case), and an approved calculator. Please see the attached materials on the registration form page for test day information and the approved calculator policy.
The library also offers an ACT Test Prep class the Thursday evening before the practice test, on Thursday, March 2nd at 7:00 PM. This hour-long session focuses on time management and a test-taking strategy that will help you maximize your time and score. It will also show you resources that you can utilize to study with, which the library provides for free with your library card that can be used either at the library or at home! You can register for that prep class by clicking on this link: https://kckpl.librarymarket.com/event/act-test-prep-1
If you are unable to make it to either of these events, please check out our databases and register for an account with your library card to take advantage of the many features to help you increase your ACT and other test scores! Simply access our ECommunity tab at KCKPL.org, and check out Learning Express Library or Tutor.com. Please contact any of the librarians for help getting to these resources.
You can contact Ellen Collins at the West Wyandotte Library directly at 913-295-8250 x5103 or by emailing ecollins@kckpl.org with questions about the practice test or test prep at West Wyandotte Library.
