Trilobites are extinct marine arthropods with complex eyes. They often burrowed and lived on the ocean floor.

Join us at the Mr. & Mrs. F.L. Schlagle library on December 15th from 2-3pm to learn about fossils!

Before Kansas was full of prairies and forests, it was once an ancient sea. Explore what Kansas was like 65 million years ago when the land was a shallow ocean called the Permian sea. In our program, we will learn all about the ancient organisms that once lived here in Kansas that are now fossilized remains today. We’ll discuss how and why fossils are made, observe some fossils outside the library, and be able to take home our own fossil replicas.
