2021 will be here soon. New year brings new opportunities to get scholarships through KC Scholars. This non-profit organization provides scholarships to people who likely would not have attended college. The mission of KC Scholars is to increase postsecondary education attainment in the greater Kansas City area. KC Scholars serves a 6-county area of the Kansas City region: Wyandotte and Johnson Counties in Kansas and Cass, Clay, Jackson and Platte in Missouri.

The program serves low- and modest-income high school students who are in public, charter, and private schools and home-schooled; and adults with some college, but no degree, and adults with an associate’s degree who are supported to earn a bachelor’s degree.

For the 4 years of KC Scholars existence, 10,000 ethnically and racially diverse college-educated workers entered regional workforce. KC region saw a 13% increase in minority college attainment rate. 2.2 trillion dollars were infused into the local economy.
