The South Branch Library is working hard to provide Halloween fun at a distance this October!

Curbside Halloween Materials

South Branch Library is a one stop shop for your Halloween movie night! Pre-selected bundles of three family-friendly spooky movies are available along with a bag of microwave popcorn through our curbside service. Adult horror films are also available for those patrons looking for something a little more frightening.

You can also have a spooky storytime at home with our pumpkins and Halloween themed Storytime To Go kit. Each bundle comes with five picture books and a sheet with early literacy tips, songs to sing together, and other recommended reading. Storytime To Go kits are available on request through our curbside service!

Passive Parking Lot Activities

A ghostly window I-Spy and a spooky story walk will both be installed in early October for patrons to enjoy from the safety of our parking lot.

Virtual Costume Contest

Fabulous costumes are our favorite part of Halloween! We don’t want to miss out on seeing you all dressed up this year, so patrons will be encouraged to visit during our business hours beginning on October 21st to take a picture in front of our haunted mansion photo backdrop. Email your photo to by 9am on Thursday, Oct. 29th. All entries will be posted in an album on our Facebook page for voting beginning on Friday, Oct. 30th. Prizes will be awarded for the pictures with the most likes in three categories: Adults, Children, and Pets! A fourth prize will be given to the library staff’s favorite costume.

Treat Bags Delivered Curbside

Finally, we still want to be able to provide treats and fun to our youngest patrons! Halloween treat bags, including both activities and snacks, will be available to pick up through our curbside service from Monday, Oct. 26 through Friday, Oct. 30th. Each child requesting a bag must be present and kids are encouraged to wear their costumes!
