Dalgona coffee is one of the latest trends in potables. While it looks impressive, this whipped and caffeinated beverage is simple to make at home! Emily from West has provided us with two ways to make this delicious drink.

Dalgona coffee is prepared by combining equal parts instant coffee, granulated sugar, and hot water. Once the mixture is combined, beat by hand or with a mixer until the mixture becomes whipped and creamy. Pour over a ⅔ filled glass of your preferred milk and enjoy!

Dalgona Coffee (serves 1)

Ingredients

  • 1 TBS instant coffee or espresso
  • 1 TBS granulated sugar
  • 1 TBS hot water

Directions

  1. Combine ingredients into a small bowl and mix until stiff peaks form, about 3-5 minutes.

2. Fill a glass ⅔ full with your milk of choice and to with whipped coffee.

TIPS:

  1. In order for the coffee to become whipped, instant coffee or espresso must be used.
  2. When blending the coffee, it is easiest to use a hand mixer or milk frother. 
  3. Use a small bowl to encourage the mixture to whip.

Mocha Dalgona Coffee (serves 1)

Ingredients

  • 1 TBS instant coffee or espresso
  • 1 TBS granulated sugar
  • 1 TBS hot water
  • ½ TBS cocoa powder

Directions

  1. Combine ingredients into a small bowl and mix until stiff peaks form, about 3-5 minutes.

2. Fill a glass ⅔ full with your milk of choice and to with whipped coffee

Note: after adding in the cocoa powder, the whipped coffee may deflate. Continue blending until reaching desired consistency.
