What can students do with the extra time created by school being closed and stay-at-home orders? Some of you may be using this time to put in extra hours studying for college admissions tests such as the ACT and SAT.

Learning Express Library and Tutor.com are two of the databases you have free access to with your library card. They both offer comprehensive test prep, tutorials, and practice exams with useful score-keeping features. Both offer assistance with ACT and SAT prep.
You WILL need to register with them and log in to track your progress and score dashboard, but it is quick and easy. Simply access the databases from our eCommunity or Resources tab on the library’s website.
Some schools are waiving their usual requirements and allowing students to submit college applications without ACT or SAT results starting in 2021. However, showing that you are able to study and take the exams shows commitment. The best policy is always to check directly with the schools you are applying to!
We are all making adjustments and struggling to deal with the changes in place; however, using this extra time at home to get ahead in pursuing your goals will hopefully bring a feeling of accomplishment!
If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to contact the West Wyandotte Library’s Education Librarian, Ellen Collins, at ecollins@kckpl.org.
this is great!
